It seems a FPS but you only have a strange manufact that can controls your best friend: the ball!You have to bring back your ball by pulling, pushing, roping, avoiding traps, crushing mummified monsters and solving puzzles in the heart of Aztecs civilization.Graphics is a bit dated, continuation is sequential but do not underestimate it! Find all secrets in all levels is very hard!!I think the game was inspired by Portal, especially for the gun you have to use; however i congratulate game's developers, I hope you read and appreciate my review!. The last thing I expected from this, when looking at the screenshots and reading the description after finally buying it being in my wishlist for 3 years, was that this is a puzzle game and fantastic for Portal/QUBE fans. Really addictive and runs on the Unreal engine, which this game truly shows the best of Unreal and how other games can have better or worse graphics with this engine. Quite simply - If you like Portal, this is a must for you!. The Ball is an excellent First Person action/puzzle game with shades of Half-life 2 (particularly the gravity gun stuff from that game) and a bit of a feel of Portal too... e.g. solving environmental puzzles. The graphics are awesome and, combined with the background sounds give the game a really immersive quality. The puzzles range from quite superficial, to rather more elaborate, while the combat starts off quite relaxed as you hammer the ball at a few mummies, but builds to far more intense and scary... particularly when you're fighting bugs in the dark, or when you face off against the boss monsters.. This is how games used to be 10 years ago, in a good way. I love the unreal engine.
